The TALENTGAL programme has launched a call to recruit external evaluators to take part in the selection process of its upcoming postdoctoral fellowships, reinforcing the programme’s commitment to excellence, transparency and international standards.
TALENTGAL is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND project (GA: 101261801), co-funded by the European Commission and the Xunta de Galicia, and implemented through the CIGUS Network (Galician Research Centres of Excellence) in collaboration with the three Galician public universities: Universidade da Coruña (UDC), Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC), and Universidade de Vigo (UVigo).
Attracting global research talent
The programme aims to attract outstanding international researchers to Galicia while supporting the professional development of postdoctoral talent. Evaluations will be organised across three scientific areas:
- Health & Biomedicine
- Science & Life Sciences
- Engineering & Technology
External evaluators will play a key role in ensuring a rigorous and high-quality selection process aligned with European research excellence standards. The Programme will offer 40 fully funded 30-month post-doctoral fellowships, distributed across two open calls. The first call, open from May to July 2026, offers 20 fellowships.
Evaluation process
The evaluation process for the first call will take place between 24 July and 10 December 2026 and will be structured as follows:
Phase 1 (remote evaluation): August to October 2026, during which evaluators will assess assigned applications individually covering the candidate’s profile and research proposal
Phase 2 (interviews): November 2026, involving the evaluation of shortlisted candidates through online interviews

Evaluator responsibilities
Selected external evaluators will review up to a maximum of 10 applications and will be responsible for:
- Acting as an independent external expert within one the three thematic panels, according to your scientific background and expertise
- Remotely evaluating candidate applications assigned to you by the Panel Chairs
- Scoring applications and providing qualitative feedback in line with the programme’s evaluation criteria
- Participating, where applicable, in Phase 2 of the evaluation process (interviews) for applications exceeding the threshold in Phase 1.
Remuneration
Evaluators will receive compensation for their work:
- €120 per proposal evaluated during Phase 1
- €60 per interview conducted during Phase 2
External evaluators will be essential to ensure a rigorous, transparent, and high-quality evaluation process in line with international standards of excellence.
